The Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT) Psychologist is responsible for administering an array of testing services in order to determine service eligibility and need; completing behavioral treatment assessments; and developing behavioral treatment interventions. Treatment outcomes are expected to result in a generalization of adaptive behaviors across different settings that are demonstrable beyond treatment sessions. Measurable variables may include increased social-communication, increased interactive play/age-appropriate leisure skills, increased reciprocal communication, etc. Services are able to be provided in the consumer’s home and community. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education, Training and Licensing Credentials: Master’s degree in behavioral psychology with Michigan Limited License in Psychology (LLP). Two or more years’ experience in working in behavioral programming preferred. Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders and a broad understanding of child development including intellectual and developmental disabilities required. Ability to work as a team member is an integral part of the job performance. BCBA certification or eligible to complete certification by designated time frame as outlined by the Program Supervisor required. Must have clinical skills and ability to perform duties as outlined in the Michigan Medicaid Manual. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care for the specific clinical needs and ages of the individuals served. Demonstrated knowledge of the clinical needs, symptoms, and behaviors of individuals served, as well as understand the principles of growth and development over the life span; have the ability to assess data reflecting each individual’s status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each individual’s requirements in relation to his or her age- specific/population specific needs; and to provide the care needed by the appropriate age group - (child, adolescent, adult and geriatric).
