US Income Tax Manager - Tax Accounting / Planning / Transfer Pricing PURPOSE: Reporting to the US Income Tax Director North America, the US Income Tax Manager - Tax Accounting / Planning / Transfer Pricing will (i) manage the tax accounting and reporting for the US group under IFRS including the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions and analysis and quantification of potential tax exposures and the appropriate tax reserves for uncertain tax positions, (ii) manage, document and support intercompany transfer pricing, (iii) provide strategic tax planning advice for potential mergers, acquisitions, divestitures or internal restricting transactions; and (iv) assist with and manage other special projects as assigned. In addition, the US Income Tax Manager - Tax Accounting / Planning / Transfer Pricing will work closely with and provide back-up for the US Income Tax Manager - Compliance / Audits during peak working periods and vice versa. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and manage timely and accurate tax provision preparation and financial reporting in accordance with IFRS Strategic planning for international, federal and state/local income tax, including participation in global tax initiatives Develop, monitor and document transfer pricing policies Establish and maintain appropriate tax controls and policies for tax accounting Manage relationship with financial auditors and co-ordinate interactions with outside advisors relating to tax issues Keep abreast of changes in tax statutes and regulations, incorporate relevant changes Perform research, document and present findings on issues affecting the US tax structure Identify and implement process improvements related to tax accounting and transfer pricing Work closely with the US Income Tax Director, the US Income Tax Manager - Compliance / Audits and others on income tax and other tax-related projects Review business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, to identify tax implications and advise the business in structuring the transactions in the most tax efficient manner Mentor and train staff Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas Maintain personal and corporate integrity in all actions KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Possess a high level of technical US federal income tax skills Be well organized and detail oriented Have excellent oral and written communications skills Able to work as a member of diverse teams including members from different functional areas (including Treasury, Accounting and Finance) and locations A mixture of accounting firm and corporate experience is preferred Must be able to apply tax principles consistent with sound business practices Demonstrated strong judgment abilities Significant IFRS tax accounting experience required Significant transfer pricing experience required Experience using tax research tools and familiarity with sophisticated tax concepts preferred QUALIFICATIONS: Required Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree Field of Study Preferred: Tax Accounting / Tax Law Required Training/Certifications: CPA, Master of Tax preferred Required Work Experience: 8 years of corporate income tax experience including participation in advanced tax research and planning projects Travel Requirements : Some limited travel may be required Additional Requirements : Previous experience with multi-national manufacturing companies, transfer pricing and tax accounting under IFRS Required Computer and Software Skills : Advanced Excel Skills Required.
