Director of Sales-Hoses Manage the sales specific market segments and/or customer groups, as well as all sales personnel. Responsible for identifying and achieving company sales objectives, staffing, associate development, department budget and activities required to support achievement of short and long term strategic objectives and customer satisfaction issues. Provides leadership in the development of sales associates, identifying and standardizing sales guidelines and training processes. Responsibilities Manage the specific customer or market segment commercial staff to meet company and Division objectives such as sales target, OR, budget, account and marketing strategy. Develop and meet staff requirements such as budgets, hiring, training and career development. Develop commercial strategy tactics and direct activity to meet growth targets, customer needs identification and coordinate support department activities meeting the customer satisfaction expectations. This includes helping to resolve issues that prevent the staff from completing job functions. Oversee commercial activity for business development, pricing, negotiation of contract terms and commercial issue resolution. Foster global activity by coordinating and engineering exchange meetings, jointly develop commercial strategies, tactics, and communication channels for global vehicle programs and customers. Oversee technical data gathering to provide inputs to help define technology needs for design engineering and material lab to establish development activities to anticipate and meet customer needs. Oversee development of market segment or customer specific and commercial lead center strategies to increase market share and profitability. Coordinate department activities with Engineering to foster a cohesive divisional account strategy. Develop Product package capability by identifying customer requirements, decision makers, presenting concept and overseeing application of adequate support resources to complete specified development activities. Identify opportunities and implement changes targeting continuous improvement in department functions, systems and processes. Oversee development of annual sales forecast (update as necessary) and maintain list of new business opportunities and targets. Establish management level contacts with key accounts. Understands and implements the health, safety, and environmental policies, and integrates health, safety, and environmental considerations into daily work activities. Travel is required to see customers, suppliers and other facilities. Must be able to interface within the international automotive community to further the company’s business interests. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. He/she must be able to interact with all levels of the organization. Must be able to motivate and direct cross-functional teams to a desired result. Also vision for future market trends and manufacturing methods are important. Success in this position requires high degree of self motivation, excellent presentation/communications skills, creative problem resolution skills, strong negotiation skills, team attitude and strong ability to identify needs, develop action plans and close activities. Requirements Minimum of BS or BA Degree with a MBA preferred. Successful candidate will have 8-10 years of progressively responsible applications engineering, marketing and/or sales experience within the industry. Cross functional background is a plus. Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels in the organization. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
